Bushmills 2017

2nd Jun 2017

On Tuesday Y5, 6 & 7 set off early for Bushmills Outdoor Education Centre with our neighbours from Duneane Primary School. We had three days (and two nights) of Fun & Games. There were loads of activities to do. We tried Water sports such as Banana Boating, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Crab Fishing and Canoeing. On land we tried our skills on the High Ropes and Orienteering and had a fabulous Beach Walk from Whitepark Bay to Ballintoy Harbour. We looked for fossils, gathered different types of shells and rocks, learned how to light a fire using flint, toasted marshmallows and even investigated a few caves. We found out things about ourselves that we didn't know before, as we stepped out of our comfort zone and into our stretch zone! Thank you to the staff of Bushmills Education Centre and especially to Phyllis who was an amazing course leader. Thank you also to the Shared Education Signature Project who support our partnership and to the dedicated staff from both schools, who gave up their own family time to make our fun possible.
