RSPB Schools' Wild Challenge

25th Apr 2022

An outstanding effort has been placed on improving our school environment. The children's commitment to this initiative has to be commended. To enhance our great work we have enter the RSPB Schools' Wild Challenge.

This RSPB Schools' Wild Challenge award scheme is all about supporting school-based learning. It enables pupils to apply curriculum knowledge and skills, as well as to develop their resilience through outdoor learning.

There are 24 activities to choose from, each helping children to connect with and learn about nature. There are bronze, silver and gold awards to achieve, depending on how many activities you do. The activities are divided into two sections - Help nature and Experience nature.  To earn each award you must complete six activities, made up of three from the Help nature section and three from Experience nature section.

Wild Challenge provides a perfect framework for learning and is open to all ages and abilities. You can work through the award levels as quickly or as slowly as you like, and there’s something to do whatever your needs, location and whatever the weather!

I am delighted to announce that we had completed enough activities to apply for both our bronze and silver awards. We have received confirmation that our activities impressed the judging panel and both the bronze and silver certificates have been awarded to the Moneynick Eco-warriors. We are so proud of our pupils and we are certainly on our way to achieving our Gold Award.
