Rights Respecting School

Pupils, staff and the community of Moneynick Primary School must be commended on working towards the Rights Respecting School Silver Award.

To achieve Silver our school’s ethos and practices will embed the principles of the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of the Child. The whole school community, Governors, pupils, teachers, parents and school organisations will work together to share, learn and achieve.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is the most complete statement of children’s rights ever produced and is the most widely ratified international human rights treaty in history.
The Convention has 54 articles that cover all aspects of a child’s life and set out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights that all children everywhere are entitled to. It also explains how adults and governments must work together to make sure all children can enjoy all their rights. Every child has rights, whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, language, abilities or any other status.
During the coming year we will work towards achieving our Silver Award. Our children will feel safe, nurtured, valued and heard and they will be inspired to become active local and global citizens.
