🐛🌸☀️Nature Walk☀️🌼🦋

29th Apr 2025

Hedgerows full of flowers, caterpillars, bees and butterflies, streams babbling, birds chirping and trees towering high into the spring sky were a few of the delights the children observed through their binoculars and magnifying glasses.

Returning to the classroom we embarked on capturing the lines, shapes and colours of nature. Beginning with a mark making exercise the pupils experienced various art mediums using control and rhythm to make marks to the beats of the composer Rossini.

Experimenting with charcoal pencils, crayopastels and soft pastels the lesson explored how to smudge, blend and shade. Taking time to peer assess, we leisurely walked through the classroom gallery to evaluate the mark making and masterpieces of our classmates.

Today we were artists and we love to learn.
