Primary 1-3 went outside today to observe the signs of winter, the patterns in our environment and how we react to cold weather. We discussed the dangers of ice and frozen lakes. To enhance our observations they compared the features of holly and ivy. Using charcoal pencils they sketched holly and ivy leaves, adding shading to emphasise the shadows and colour variation. An excellent opportunity to bring the outdoors, indoors. #thehollyandtheivy #brrrrrrrit’scold
