Thematic Units are a series of lessons which centre around a specific subject or theme. Primary 6/7 explored their new theme ‘ Hunger’ today through a carousel which enhanced their initial discussions, questions and ideas. A carousel is an effective teaching strategy which displays multiple pieces of content, such as images, text books, poems and artefacts. It allows children the opportunity to recall and discuss prior knowledge and reflect as individuals, team and class on what they would like to learn in the coming weeks.
