We are incredibly proud to have been nominated as a Finalist for ‘Excellence in Sport’ at the Local Women Education Awards. What makes this even more extraordinary is that we were the only primary school competing among secondary schools across the region!
We have strived in the past years to develop ‘Sport for All’. Collaborating with Ulster GAA, Cumann an mBunscol, Athletics NI, local GAA clubs, Post Primary Schools, Antrim and Newtownabbey Soccer League and developing an internal program of coaching throughout our P.E lessons and grounds that reflect the dedication, passion, and teamwork that our children bring to sport every day.
Sport is so much more than games and medals—it's a powerful tool that builds resilience, discipline, confidence, determination and leadership. These are qualities that not only support their physical and mental wellbeing but translate to learning in the classroom and help shape strong, well-rounded individuals.
This recognition is a huge compliment to our students, staff and our entire school community. With community support we have successfully created an inclusive environment where every child has every chance in every sport, while nurturing their talents!
