🧊 Polar Lands : Hot or Cold Day🔥

8th Mar 2026

Our Primary 1/2 pupils had a fantastic theme day exploring “Hot and Cold.” Through a range of fun and creative activities, the children developed their literacy, art and fine motor skills while continuing to learn about polar environments.

Activities throughout the day included:

❄️ Following step-by-step instructions to draw polar animals, including polar bears inspired by our class storybooks
❄️ Creating polar bears using shapes and materials from our natural resource tinker boxes
❄️ Practising line copying to develop fine motor skills and writing technique
❄️ Constructing sentences using differentiated images and words, focusing on key features such as capital letters and full stops
❄️ Taking part in a class discussion about our “Hot and Cold” poem, introducing pupils to early literacy techniques such as similes

Lessons full of creativity, discussion and learning as pupils explored their theme. Well done everyone! 👏
