📱✨Maths Week Ireland in Primary 3✨📱
Our Primary 3 pupils numeracy lesson today focused on blending practical maths and ICT-based learning to celebrate the end of Maths Week Ireland!
Using our school iPads, we began by engaging with online maths resources. These interactive activities are designed to build confidence and fluency in maths through fun, levelled challenges. Pupils worked on questions linked to their current classroom topics, helping them to reinforce and revise key concepts.
Next, they got hands-on with a sequencing challenge, using three different coloured counters to explore with their partner all the possible combinations that could be made. This practical task supported early number skills such as pattern recognition, logical thinking and understanding order and value. Vital building blocks for confident and strong numeracy.
To finish, the class worked with our Izak9 cubes, a dynamic maths resource designed to encourage problem-solving, reasoning and teamwork. These colourful cubes can be used right across the school and adapted for different ability levels, making them a fantastic way to challenge mathematical thinking. Primary 3 rose to the occasion, working in groups to sort, build and solve using their cubes!
A huge well done to Primary 3 for embracing their learning today!
