Inspired by their theme 'houses and homes' primary 4/5 assembled their own structure, transforming our outdoor space into a geometry workshop! Working in teams, pupils used natural materials to construct 2D and 3D shapes, applying their knowledge of properties, edges and vertices in a real-world context. This practical investigation brought to life the Shape and Space area of the maths curriculum, supporting spatial awareness, teamwork and problem-solving. As they collaborated to design and build their shapes, pupils demonstrated creativity, communication, and critical thinking essential skills across all areas of learning. We were in awe of what they were able to create!
