In class our Primary 6/7 pupils worked on number tasks where they created target numbers using a given set of digits, experimenting with different operations to reach the solution. These activities encouraged mathematical resilience, strategic thinking and lots of great discussion about the different ways to approach a problem.
Later, the class took their learning outdoors, adding an element of playfulness to their numeracy by using numbers found within our playground activities. It was fantastic to see pupils applying their skills in a fun, active way proving that maths isn’t just something we do on paper, but something we can find all around us! Well done primary 6/7!
