🌈Somewhere Over the Rainbow🌈
What a colourful two days we have enjoyed this week as our Primary 1/2/3 pupils celebrated the completion of our theme ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’. Teaching centred around the book ‘Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister.
📊 We created a class pictogram based on everyone’s favourite colour, learning the mathematical vocabulary linked with graphs and how to interpret data.
🎥Pupils consolidated positional language while programming bee-bots and directed animations using the ‘ICanAnimate’ app.
📝Compound words, verbs and report writing were the main literacy themes. A much loved literacy lesson focussed on the sensory mystery boxes which enclosed items of a particular colour. Teamwork, collaboration and strong communication allowed the rainbow teams to discuss, draw and label what they thought was in each box.
🎨Each pupil sculpted their own beautiful sea creature inspired by our book, adding sequins scales to bring their creations to life and consolidated their pointillism technique with paper plate fish!
A classroom full of creativity, teamwork, and learning. We can’t wait to see what’s next in our colourful journey together!
Well done to our colourful pupils, they are fantastic. A massive thank you to the staff who made this an amazing experience.
