Safer Internet Day

4th Feb 2025

In today’s digital world, the internet plays a vital role in shaping how we connect, learn, work, and entertain ourselves. However, with the increase in online activities, there is a growing need to address issues related to internet safety and security. Safer Internet Day is an annual event that aims to promote a safer and more responsible use of online platforms, particularly among children and young people.

For Safer Internet Day 2025, the theme is “Together for a Better Internet.” This theme emphasizes the importance of collaboration between individuals, communities, and organizations to create a safer and more positive online environment. The message is clear: when we come together, we can collectively address the challenges and opportunities the internet presents, fostering a space where everyone can thrive safely.

The theme encourages a global effort to:

  • Promote digital kindness: Ensuring that all online interactions are conducted with respect and empathy.
  • Enhance collaboration: Working together across various sectors, including education, technology, and policy, to create effective solutions.
  • Build digital resilience: Helping individuals, especially young people, build the skills to navigate the online world safely.

Today all classes used digital technology and age appropriate stories to reinforce the message 'Together for a Better Internet'.
