Safer Schools
Today the Department of Education launched an innovative app on the Safer Schools platform.
These are challenging times for all of us and the safeguarding and child protection support provided through this app will be of use to all parents, carers and pupils of our school. There are specific resources regarding COVID-19 contained within the resources section and I encourage you to review these at your earliest opportunity. The app, downloaded on either the App Store or Google Play, provides invaluable information and support.
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
Article 17 :
Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them.
Article 36 :
Governments must protect children from all other forms of exploitation, for example the exploitation of children for political activities, by the media or for medical research.
