SchoolCycle Lid Drop Day

27th Mar 2026

Today we held our monthly lid drop day as each class presented their plastic lid collections to be weighed as part of our Eco initiative ‘SchoolCycled’. 🌍♻️

Our Eco Team carefully weighed each class’s contribution to determine the winning class based on weight per pupil. Using our school’s balance scales, the team have developed fantastic numeracy skills as they calculated the amount of metal weights needed to reach equilibrium and record the final totals. It is a brilliant hands-on learning opportunity, combining numeracy, problem solving and environmental awareness. Every lid collected brings us one step closer to reaching our overall target.

A huge well done to Primary 6/7, who were today’s winners with an amazing 160g of plastic per pupil. 👏

Keep up the great work everyone! ♻️🌱
