Today we were invited to attend the Scoil Spreagtha Celebration at Ulster University after being selected to join the scheme this year due to our existing promotion of Irish language woven throughout our curriculum. Congratulations to our pupils who attended the event, proudly receiving the award and representing our school values and ethos.
We take a balanced approach that nurtures a love for our native language while ensuring that the development of English remains central to teaching and learning. A strong foundation which will inspire pupils to continue the Irish language as they move through their education.
An example of our unique approach is our annual ‘Ceol agus Craic’ event, where the children take centre stage in celebrating the Irish language alongside other elements such as dance, music, song and poetry— a celebration truly shaped by the voices and talents of our pupils, making it something that simply can't be replicated.
Moving forward we will continue to teach Irish in a way that promotes the cultural identity of every child. We wish to acknowledge the continued provision and dissemination provided by Múinteoir Nic Íomhair. Comhghairdeas le gach duine inniu!💚
