Our entire school enjoyed a fantastic Reading Celebration Day inspired by the much-loved childhood classic The Three Little Pigs.
Working in mixed groups from Primary 1–7, pupils rotated through a range of fun and engaging activities led by our teachers, classroom assistants and student teachers.
Highlights from the day included:
📚 Pupils dressed up as their favourite book or story characters
📚 Listening together to an audiobook of The Three Little Pigs
📚 A music and rhythm storytelling walk with Miss Walls, using sound effects to bring the story to life
📚 A fun and energetic PE circuit with Mr Close
📚 Stepping into character as the Three Little Pigs and putting the Big Bad Wolf on trial with Mrs McKeever
📚 Outdoor Learning with Mrs Mallon – using natural materials to build a wolf-proof house
📚 A measuring activity with Miss Devlin and Miss Millar using the materials from the story
📚 Creating a scene from the story using the Just2Easy App
📚 Designing wanted posters, building character models and reconstructing the pigs’ houses
