Our School Crest

What do the images on our School Crest represent?

Our crest is a symbol of who we are and what we value at Moneynick Primary School, designed by a past pupil of our school. Each part represents something special about our school community, our faith and our surroundings.

The Cross

The cross represents our Christian ethos and the importance of faith in all we do. It reminds us to live with kindness, respect and love for one another, following the example of Jesus in our daily lives.

Our Pupils

The image of two happy children captures the spirit of friendship, joy and learning that fills our school every day. At Moneynick, every child is valued and encouraged to grow in confidence, curiosity and care for others.

Our Landscape and Heritage

The rolling green hills, trees and hedgerows at the base of the crest reflect the beautiful countryside that surrounds our school. This also connects to the Irish name for Moneynick 'Muine Chnoic' meaning “thicket of the hill” which reminds us of our roots and our close relationship with both nature and our Irish heritage. We take pride in conserving our environment and in the strong sense of community that comes from our rural setting.

Our Motto: Share, Learn, Achieve

At the heart of Moneynick Primary School is our motto 'Share, Learn, Achieve.' It reminds us to share our gifts and talents with others, to keep learning with enthusiasm and curiosity, while striving to achieve our best in everything we do. Our crest reflects these values, showing that together we can grow in faith, friendship and knowledge.
